Where do you get your ratings data from?

Since CableU’s formation, we’ve purchased customized data directly from Nielsen to inform our insights and work towards an objective evaluation of each network.

Where do you get your program data from?

Program and producer data is collected from a multitude of sources, including network press representatives, network executives and producers. Our interactive database allows us to process hundreds of user-generated content submissions and edits a week, allowing us to boast the most comprehensive and timely U.S. television-industry database available.

How do you monitor and verify content in the database added and edited by users?

The username and IP address for all content added or modified in our database are recorded. This is a safety mechanism that allows us to block and filter out spam or unwanted content modifications.

What are the definitions of Nielsen’s ratings measurement standards?

DVR (Time-shifted) Adults 18-49 Ratings – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs.

Live+Same Day(Live+SD) ratings include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing.

Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

DVR Ratings Increase Past Airdate – How many people watched the show on their DVRs within 7 days following the airdate
